Founder & Creative Director of Men's Style Pro, Sabir has…
With the holiday shopping season in full swing, I had the opportunity to participate in unique gift exchange with Zappos.com. What was unique about this gift exchange was that I was randomly paired with another blogger, Shannon, the founder of GBO Fashion. Initially, I assumed I would be paired with a guy and would just inject my personal style into the gift selection, however; being paired with a woman gave me the chance to flex my style muscle (especially since I usually pick some on-point gifts for my wife).
The wonderful thing about swapping gifts with another style blogger is that she has tons of pictures of her looks on her site which gave me an easy style guideline to follow. After digging through here site, it was pretty evident that she is partial boots & vest. My first step was visiting the Zappos Holiday Gift Guide. To be honest, I’ve never shopped for anything other than shoes on Zappos, so being able to find outerwear was a pleasant surprise. In the end, I found a faux fur vest & a pair of black ankle boots that I thought she’d be into. I was happy to see the Shannon really loved the pieces I picked for her and you can see how she styled the looks on here site.
On my end, the shopping experience with Zappos was extremely easy and enlightening. Here are some things I learned during the experience;
- Shopping for women that you don’t know is easier than expected (especially when they run a style blog)
- Zappos offers a 365 day return policy (which is unheard of)
- You can find more than shoes at Zappos.com. You can fulfill all your needs in clothing, accessories and housewares too
- During the holiday season, Zappos can be a one-stop shop for almost every gift need
Wool Black & White Varsity Jacket – Crooks & Castles (available at Zappos) || Red Leather Card Holder w/ money clip – Herschel Supply & Co (available at Zappos) || M33 Black Jeans – 3×1 || Hunter S. Thompson Sunglasses – Boast x Reds || White High Top Sneakers – Creative Recreation
As a part of this partnership with Zappos, I provided my “gifter” with a description of things that I’m really into and my number one thing was jackets. It’s somewhat clear that Shannon took a look at my Instagram feed from this fall and saw that I have a thing for athletic inspired jackets (baseball & varsity style). She picked this Crooks & Castles wool varsity jacket and threw in a sleek Herschel Supply & Co red leather card case too.
Even though Zappos offers free 365 day returns, I can assure you that Shannon’s picks will stay in my wardrobe. It’s never easy letting someone else interpret what they think your style is, but, it was refreshing to see that Zappos had a ton of options that fit my style. I’m pleasantly surprise to see that some of my favorite brands like Ted Baker, Ralph Lauren and Johnston & Murphy were all carried on Zappos too.
Special thanks to Zappos for selecting me for this gift exchange. Check out the Zappos Holiday Gift Guide for your holiday shopping needs.
Best,
Sabir
