Founder & Creative Director of Men's Style Pro, Sabir has…
It’s officially summer! Hooray—we made it. Even though, let’s be honest, we’ve been sweating for the past two months already.
As temperatures continue to climb, there’s no reason to retire your suits until fall. Instead, it’s time to embrace lightweight fabrics and lean into a little tropical swagger—even if the closest you’ll get to a beach this season is a rooftop happy hour.
As an unofficial ambassador of the “We Rock Suits All Year” society, I’m more than familiar with the classic warm-weather comment: “You must be so hot in that suit/blazer.” That’s usually my cue to launch into an impromptu TED Talk on fabric weights, breathability, and why I’m actually far more comfortable than they think. The truth is, when you’re wearing the right materials, summer tailoring doesn’t have to feel like a punishment—it can be one of the most enjoyable times of year to get dressed.
In the spirit of helping you navigate this hellscape that is summer in the most stylish way possible, I’ll show you two ways to rock Suitsupply’s Mid-brown check Havana DB Suit (it’s wool, silk, linen).

Shop The Look | Wool, Silk, Linen DB Havana Suit – Suitsupply | Dark Brown Suit Belt – Suitsupply | Brown Suede Loafers – Suitsupply
First and foremost, it’s all about fabric, weave and construction when it comes to summer suiting. This suit is a blend of wool, silk and linen with a very one weave to the fabric. Making it incredibly light, airy and breathable. Not shown but extremely important — this jacket is half lined, adding to its breathability.
Why Rocking The Full Suit Works
- Opting for a ribbed tank instead of a button up shirt keeps the overall look and feel of this outfit relaxed. And you’ll be physically cooler.
- Double-breasted jackets hold more heat, however; when tailored appropriately they can be worn open. More sprezzatura than sloppy (trust me)
- This is the time to invest in a quality anti-perspirant
- Go sockless or a rock a no-show sock with your loafers. And, this summer, think about a pairing this type of suit with a fisherman’s sandal.

Pant Swap

Shop The Look | White Chino Trousers – Suitsupply | Wool, Silk, Linen Havana DB Jacket – Suitsupply | Dark Brown Suit Belt – Suitsupply | Brown Suede Loafers – Suitsupply
The white chino swap. As someone that wears white pants all year — this is the swap that makes the most sense and will give you the most style options. Think of those weekends when your traveling for a wedding or any tailored event and you goal is to pack light.
Swapping out the matching suit pants for a white chino and keeping your outfit essentially the same, ultimately create a fresh new look.
Why This Works
- The white chinos complement the rich tones of the mid-brown check sport coat perfectly. There’s also a subtle white undertone woven throughout the jacket that becomes even more pronounced when paired with crisp white trousers.
- Think of white chinos as the blank canvas of your wardrobe. When styled with tailored neutrals, it’s almost impossible to get it wrong.
- I also swapped the pocket square and watch from the fully suited look (above) to introduce a bit of complementary color play. Small details like these can completely shift the mood of an outfit without requiring a full wardrobe change.
- And let’s not overlook the practical side: white is one of the most reflective colors you can wear, making it a smart choice when temperatures start to climb.
