When I match pieces in an outfit, it’s never about finding exact hues and shades. Matching things exactly can get a bit obnoxious and mechanical, in my opinion. That being said, I look for approximations when building a kit. I don’t want to get into a lesson on color theory here, but two colors that are similar in saturation can match just as well as two colors that are exactly the same hue. With that in mind, I layered up with an array of earth tones to help these deadly suede boots feel right at home. It’s all about the color family in this kit.
The casual Italian/American tailored hybrid is my favorite aesthetic, when it comes to clothing, and why would I deviate from it this time? This jacket is one of the all-time best pieces of clothing I’ve ever owned, and it doubles as the perfect piece of outerwear for chilly days. Paired with a muted pair of dark green tailored chinos, the color really pops, and in turn, brings the eye down to the similarly colored boots. Comfort is important for the individual dressing, as well as the person looking at that individual. The balance of greens, browns, and blues in this kit creates a nice harmony, and makes a kit that could call for a lot of attention (green pants, brown/orange blazer, suede boots) extremely approachable.
