Founder & Creative Director of Men's Style Pro, Sabir has…
When thinking about the menswear shopping scene in Philly and the new boutique Ps & Qs, these Kanye West lyrics come to mind, “It’s what we’ve been waitin’ for, ain’t it?! What people paid paper for ain’t it? We can’t explain it, we want something new.” For decades, the street style game was plagued by menswear shops that only carried Timberland Boots, Air Force Ones, Girbaud Jeans and Tall Tees. To be honest, I can proudly say that I wore all the trends happily (except, you could never get me in a tall tee). Now don’t let the word “boutique” confuse you. Ps & Qs is a not your mom’s shop! You’re going to find those menswear pieces that you’ve spent hours ogling on GQ.com and other men’s style sites and blogs.
Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with the co-founders of Ps & Qs, Ky, Rick and Joseph to pick their brains for a bit and to check out some hand-picked pieces of clothing. Premium quality goods are what you will find when you drop into their South Street location, and you’ll probably also run into their dog Brooklyn. Expect well tailor, street style inspired pieces throughout every collection carried. After spending just two minutes in their store, you get a sense that each piece of clothing, coffee table book, limited edition Wu-Tang clan cassette box, and dope sneaker was carefully selected to give their future owner a feeling of coolness (without being force).
Of course there are those of you that are not in the immediate Philadelphia area, but want to get your hands on some pieces sold at Ps & Qs, well you’re in luck. Just a few weeks ago, http://www.PsandQs.com went live and is updated often with new inventory.
