Khaki suiting isn’t just for Easter anymore. Up your office style and add some character with a subtle checked pattern shirt or go all-in with a punchy printed shirt paired with your favorite slip on sneakers for a weekend vibe.
We’ve patterned with Bar III as a part of the #SettingTheBar campaign to show you how a little pattern mixing can up the ante on your khaki suit style this spring.

The khaki suit is your warm weather menswear blank canvas, but, it’s often seen more as leisure attire. Don’t only bring your khaki suit out for those beach wedding, show it some love during the workweek! By adding few patterned classic patterned pieces, you can rock this at the office too.
Let’s start with the color palette. Black, white & khaki exude sophistication and style. By mixing a small checked pattern shirt with pin dot tie, you adding some character to your look that’s work ready and still playful enough to say “yeah, I know what I doing here”.
Why This Look Works
The light-honey color of the khaki suit is one of the most universal in the khaki family. Deep colors like black with crisp white detailing pop against the suit. Making it easier to work on your pattern play skills when you don’t have to worry about matching fabrics.

Subtle Floral Knots

In early spring, it’s sometimes fun to bring the flowers to the park – or at least into your wardrobe. When some floral ties can fall more along the line of novelty, a tonal blue floral tie like this one is understated and stylish. For the 9 to 5er that’s bored with traditional neckwear, but, wants to be work appropriate – this is the right tie, shirt & suit combo for you.
Why This Look Works
All of the tones in this look are a direct nod to spring without losing the formality of workwear. The corporate blue Oxford shirt is a classic menswear staple piece and when paired with a darker blue tie, the look becomes sharper. The floral pattern of the tie doesn’t overpower the look because it blends with the rest of the blue color palette of the shirt and complements the khaki suit perfectly. Adding the cognac monk strap shoes grounds the look and adds warmth to a soft-toned outfit.

Patterned Shirt + Sneakers + Khaki Suit = WEEKEND SUITING

The weekend is the perfect time for #settingthebar and suiting up (yeah, I said #settingthebar). Hopefully, you have some fun plans ahead of you and you want your weekend suited style to reflect it. Leave your tie & lace up shoes at home (save those for the office) and adding a kicked up patterned shirt to your khaki suit. As I mentioned before, this suit is a blank canvas, however; there are certain colors that complement it best, especially with punchy patterns.
Why This Look Works
Speaking of colors that work best with a honey color khaki suit, navy blue & white are king! Think more urban-sophisticate than nautical shipmen. This look is casual and playful, but, is still tailored and streamline. Making it the perfect weekend look for brunch, spring party or just because you wanted to suit up. You’ll get bonus style points by adding a sleek sneaker that has the silhouette of an Oxford shoe like these mesh slip-ons.
