Buck the sartorial traditionalists that say you can’t wear sneakers with a suit. They’re your clothes, so do with them whatever you like. That being said, pairing sneakers with your corduroy or any suit comes with a disclaimer. Leave your beat up of kicks home and keep it simple.
How To Get Sporty With Corduroy
- Sneakers: You can’t go wrong with a pair of white low top sneakers with a suit. Save the canvas kicks for your chino suit and be sure to bust out the leather for your tan corduroy.
- Sweat Shirt Life: there’s a time and place for a grey sweat shirt with a suit (think navy/grey wool suit), however; a tan corduroy suit is not one. Think of more complementary colors and patterns like a navy striped sweat shirt or some other earth tone.
- Keep One Formal Aspect: it’s okay to still keep some formal pieces in your sporty corduroy suit look. A pattern pocket square shows an understanding of traditional style with a bit of sartorial whimsy
