Take Over Night & Unleash Your Inner Beast
Going from the runway to the street, animal prints have officially invaded the menswear market and we’re actually on board. Since we’re in the era of true maximalism, amping up your party wardrobe with some funky animal prints is an unexpected most.
We partnered with Tallia to showcase some of our favorite prints from their fall/winter 19′ collection (available at Macy’s). From bright leopard print dinner jackets to subtle bold tonal suiting, this collection has something for the menswear novice to the sartorially adventurous gent. Plus, we’re offering a few tips on how to pull them off (because we know you want to try it).
Look 1: Full Goldblum
Leopard Print Dinner Jacket – Tallia
Ok, we get it — this jacket is bold. So, you probably won’t be wearing it to the office – unless you’re the leader of a jazz band. But, if you’re headed out on the town and you’re ready to make a big splash, a leopard print dinner jacket might be a solid style move.
Because wearing a piece like this is a more advanced style move, here are a few tips to make it work:
- Keep the rest of the look simple. It pairs best with an all black base.
- Pair this jacket with a tuxedo pant for a more formal look
- Make it an evening out option by pairing it with tailored black jeans
- Dress shoes (Oxford, loafers or slippers) and Chelsea boots work best with it
Where To Rock This
- Every holiday party imageable
- A night out when you’re trying to make the style splash of a lifetime
- Perfect for NYE
- Anywhere Jeff Goldblum might hang out!
Look 2: Formal But Make It Fashion
When the dress code is “Creative Black Tie” this is what you should walk through the door wearing. A tonal leopard suit is quite bold, but, when done in a tonal brown colorway, it can the perfect statement suit for the right event.
In moody evening light, the pattern is subtle enough to be missed. But, when you get in close or the right flash of light hits it, you’ll truly be a leopard showing its spots.
— The Switch UP (see the last two pictures of this look)
You can give that creative black tie look a formal swerve with the addition of the velvet dinner jacket. The one featured here is in the same tonal brown colorway as the suit and the lapels have same pattern as the pants.
Look 3: All Black Everything, “Casually” Suited
If you’re looking for your gateway animal print fit, look no further than a tonal, black on black print. As a full look, think of it as the upgrade version of a track suit. Remember, it might be a suit, but, this pattern is the epitome of casual — so pair other casual pieces with it, like:
- a minimal, low-profile black sneaker
- t-shirt or henley
- Chelsea boot
Major word of advice — wear this suit as separates! The jacket looks great with jeans and you could pair these pants with hoodie and sneakers too!
