And No, We’re Not Talking About Canadian Tuxedo
Question. Have you ever thought about wearing a denim suit? Probably not. And, if you have, I’m proud of you! For the average guy, the idea of a denim suit immediately conjures up images of the “Canadian Tuxedo” or something more Rockabilly.
In the world of suiting, it’s always smart to look to the Italians for knowledge and inspiration. When it comes to cut, fabric and true sprezzatura — the Italians can make a denim suit so damn desirable. In comes Moda Matters, with the Made In Italy, Martino double-breasted denim suit. With soft unstructured shoulders, the suit drapes in a natural/casual manner — making it easier to relate to the idea of a denim suit.
This feature shows two ways to rock this suit and hopefully breaks away any apprehension you might have to wearing “double denim” in a tailored way.

Style Notes
A suit, is a suit, is a suit! But, can you rock a denim suit to work? Of course! Think of it as your elevated navy suit. For this feature, I paired a denim shirt with this suit just to show that there’s great dimension to the styling. It’s a bold move, but, when done right it can go unnoticed. If you take a closer look at the fabric, you’ll start to see the whiskering from wear that just gets better with age (especially after a few times after the cleaners.
Going full denim might be a bit advanced, so here a few tips to pull it off, at the office:
- Dress a dark denim suit, the same way you’d wear a navy suit to the office
- Experiment with a monochromatic kit, but, with color variation (light wash, shirt, dark tie)
- Leather shoes are ideal, but, pairing a brown suede shoe will pull more of the texture out of the suit

Style Note
There’s a softness, ease and fun that comes with wearing a denim suit. So, pairing it with your favorite casual pieces for the weekend just makes sense.
Here Are Few Tips To Rocking This Suit Casually:
- Pairing a t-shirt, sweater, henley are a must
- Break these pieces up as separates
- A minimal sneaker is this suits best friend. Opt for a white leather, black leather, brown suede or grey suede
