Fall = Chukka Boots
(And Of Course Brown Suede)
[dropcap size=big]T[/dropcap]o jump-start the unofficial beginning of fall, it’s time to dive into some of our favorite boots. Up first, the Baron chukka boots in snuff suede from the handcrafted men’s shoe brand, Cobble & Hyde*. Most guys see the chukka boot as their intro into the “dressy” boot arena, but, they tend to wear them mostly dressed down.
With an all-weather dianite rubber sole and lush snuff suede upper, we decided to style these boots three ways to shows their versatility. Think tattered denim & tailored suits, plus, everything in between.

Every guy’s weekend go-to outfit (besides sweats) is jeans and a t-shirt. This look is a classic for a reason, but, adding a varsity jacket in an unexpected colorway and suede chukkas is a style game-changer.
Why Does This Look Work & Where To Rock
With football season kicking off as we speak, rocking a varsity jacket is right on cue. Since it’s late summer/early fall, a satin jacket is light, fresh and the perfect substitute for a blazer. Adding a pair of rich snuff suede chukka boots warms up the look and the contrast is the right pop (neon sneakers not necessary).
Rock this look to the bar and catch that Saturday afternoon college football game or on a brunch date.
Monochromatically Tailored

Something that I’ve always admired about Italian-style is their knack for rocking a monochromatic look with a contrasting snuff shoe. Where most American men would have opted for a cognac leather Oxford shoes with this look, let’s make the case for the snuff suede chukka boot.
Why This Look Works
Let’s give it up for texture and tonality. The brushed suede and cotton sweat shirt adds texture from top to bottom. Also, if you look closely, you’ll see that the buttons of the jacket are dark brown. Which is the ideal complement to the dark brown dianite soles of the boots.

Light-wash distressed denim + snuff suede chukka boots are a match made in heaven. Pair that with a smart brown and blue plaid blazer and you have the stylish professor look one hundred percent down.
Why This Look Works
There are three things are work here:
- Black & Brown: it’s easily one of the most complementary color combos
- Unexpected Pocket Square: the key to proper pocket square placement, pair a square that complements your look. No more matching tie & pocket square sets
- Texture: wool blazer, suede boots, knit tie & distressed jeans
