Recently, my wife, Marina (photographer of Men’s Style Pro) and I were asked to be feature in a post for Philly.com. The idea was to capture us while we were shooting in the Chestnut hill section of Philly. Below you will see Stephanie, the photographer from Philly.com shooting me (Marina captured that moment). The actual feature will run on Philly.com in the coming weeks. I decided to switch up the look just slightly with a patterned tie and a red edged, white cotton pocket square. Below are some tips to executing this look.
- When adding a pattern tie to this look, staying within the blue color family is a simple way to ease in
- Since there a slight hint of red in the tie, adding a white pocket with red edging is just enough of a complement without being too matchy
- The rest of the look stays the same as the first look (clean white shirt, tan loafers)

The suit looks good, other than having the waist brought in, everything else fit well out of the box? How/where did you hear about them; or did they contact you?
Hi JM,
I found them through some online searching and connected with them via social media. The rest of the fit was spot on. I was able to them them about my leg taper in the comment section.

Awesome, thanks for showcasing them!
Any word on the construction in regards to canvassing from Blackpier? Full, half, fused, something else? Ideally they’d provide full or half, but that might be wishful thinking, given the price point.
Hi Eric,
The jackets are full or half canvassed. No fusing.

The difference in the approach of board of Blackpier is immediately obvious; that make them better!

Suit looks great Sabir. How did you find the armholes and shoulder pads?
Hi ALs,
I just tried on that jacket because I haven’t worn it in a while. Even though there is shoulder pads, Blackpier was able to capture the natural slope of my shoulders rather well.

Thanks Sabir.
How did you find do the armholes? We’re they cut high enough for your liking? Thanks again for this blog. I recently found dead it and is one of my daily visited sites. Great info and inspiration.

Absolutely love the suit! Are those shoes from Thomas Bird? They have a similar finish to them, but I don’t see the style on their website. Cold you give advice on what type of suit would look good with these pointed shoes? http://www.thomasbirdshoes.com/wholecuts/benson-wholecut-oxford-navy-blue
