Founder & Creative Director of Men's Style Pro, Sabir has…
This past July 4th I had the honor marrying my beautiful wife Marina. Of course she was the show stopper of the wedding in her gown from Priscilla of Boston (and beautiful hazelish green eyes). When figuring out what the guys were going to wear, we decided that I should be almost completely different from my groomsmen and outfit myself in something that is truly me. During the late winter, I purchased this greyish-blue sport coat and put it away for safe keeping and it finally made and appearance at my wedding.
Stepping away from the traditional black tuxedo, I wanted my groomsmen to have the look of summer with the light grey, but, still have the classic tuxedo elements. When seeing the groomsmen and bridesmaids together, they color schemes complimented each other very nicely even though they were wearing completely different colors (bridesmaids were wearing a light kiwi green). European fits complement my body best (wide shoulders, thin waist) and being able to find these items off the rack is great because it saves a trip to the tailor.
You will always hear people speak of the “Extra 10%” and that is makes one man’s outfit stand out against every other man wearing the same thing. On my wedding day my attention to detail was in my black pindot pocket square, black leather strap watch, black satin trim sport coat and….I guess you can see the trend here. The goal is never try to upstage your wife because it is really the day she dream of since she was 12 years old, but, remember in 30 years you will look back on these pictures with your kids and say, “Yeah, dad was fresh to death” (and your kids will have no idea what that means.
Last but not least, once the dust has settled and you feel confident that you look great take some time to remember one thing. That one thing you should remember is that this is the day you are making the biggest and most sacred commitment of your life so always wear you heart proudly and love honestly. Once you have accepted that your style will transcend beyond your clothes.
