P’s & Q’s, Philly’s preeminent heritage menswear shop recently celebrated their 4 year anniversary and dropped collection (including flannels, sweat shirts, tees) that almost instantly sold out before the party was even over. Knowing that they were going to put out some solid outerwear, I dropped by the shindig to try on every jacket I could get my hands on.
Teaming up with American sportswear outerwear pioneers, Golden Bear, this collaboration varsity jacket is a mix of colors that adds a richness to varsity jacket that isn’t often displayed by most brands. While most brands is jumping on the souvenir bomber trend, this collaboration is keeping the varsity jacket at the top of the outwear game.

- This Fit Is Golden – the length falls right at the waist, there’s no bulk and the sleeves are tailored to perfection. I tried it on (so trust me)
- The collar & waist band stripe & color – this detailing is extremely subtle, but, the navy blue color really brings this jacket together. Typically, that ribbing is black & white or a solid color, but, the navy is the perfect complement to the camel sleeves and the textured light grey wool body
- The weight – this is a substantial jacket, meaning its winter ready — but, it’s much lighter than expected
- Dual Colorways – the MSP Dopest Sh*T approved colorway is grey & brown, but, it comes in all black too. You can’t go wrong with a murdered out varsity jacket
