Hues Of Blues
Let’s be real, people will definitely expect you to drop the line “Don’t Step On My Blue Suede Shoes” when you’re rocking these. And, truth be told, they better not step on these kicks. Below are some tips to finding the right pair and rocking them like a boss.
- You’ll want to avoid loafers that have white contrasting tassels when the base color is blue (unless you’re going for the nautical look)
- If you’re a suited guy, pair these loafers with khakis & greys
- If you want to experiment with a mostly blue look, opt for a linen suit. The texture of the linen suit with be a suitable contrast for the smooth suede of the loafers
- For the non-suit guy, trying white, khaki, grey and navy trousers. If you’re going to rock navy pants, mix up your color palette in regard to your shirt/blazer combo
- Since grey is the least represented color in the shoe, think about a solid grey pant or a blue pant with grey chalk striping (see my friend Angel Ramos for an example)
- Putting together looks with gradients of blue adds some depth outfit without looking monotone. To avoid an overly matchy outfits, use neutral trousers to break up the blues (ie use this look as a reference)
