Mind Your P’s & Q’s
Over the last seven years, I’ve gotten to know Ky & Rick Cao brother’s and owners of the heritage streetwear shop P’s & Q’s quite well. Situated on South street in Philly, P’s & Q’s has become a hub for the wandering tourist and stylish resident. Funny enough, our first meeting still remains a good story because I was an hour late to our Sunday meeting due to a flipped over vehicle on I-76 here in Philly — I brought photo evidence to prove that I wasn’t lying.
But, the team waited graciously for me to arrive and from that day our bond was sealed. And today, P’s & Q’s isn’t just another new clothing store, it has become a pillar of the community, offering one-on-one experience with some of the most lauded designers, whose wares they carry. Patrons travel from all over the world to drop the well curated boutique of menswear, grooming items, publications and travel items. But, the story isn’t as easy as setting up a shop out of nowhere and become and immediate success, when I sat down with Rick & Ky we discuss their beginnings with their first shop Abakus Takeout in the Chinatown section of Philly. To hear more of the brand’s story, listen to my interview with the brothers on widget above.
