Around Superbowl time this year, Old Spice released a series of commercials where mothers were professing their love for their sons, that we’re now becoming “men” due to using Old Spice body spray (the moms were slightly creepy). These commercial took me back to when I was in high school in early 2000, which was around the time I became addicted to body sprays. Thinking that if women could smell my scent from a mile away, I would pull in tons of the ladies (I didn’t do badly in that department). Things were going well, but, the census was out that I was an, OVERSPRAYER!
As an avid user of body spray after hitting the showers at the gym, it was time to find the right one and apply it properly. As apart of the “Smellcome to Manhood” campaign by Old Spice, they’ve release 3 collections with a variety of scents for their “Refresh” body sprays. If there is a standout amongst the three that I have in my possession, Bearglove would be it. The fragrance is surprisingly smooth, without the usual pungent after-scent of a body spray.
Here are some key tips to applying this body spray appropriate:
- Do not body spray on your clothes, it’s body spray!
- Hold the can 6 to 8 inches away from your body
- Spray across your chest for no more than two seconds
- You’re done.
- Do not reapply!
The video above is a satirical approach to the overspraying epidemic, however; take note of some of the advice given. When I was younger, I probably could have benefited from a bit of guidance on the issue of the over spray. The great people at Old Spice want me to pay-it-forward to a lucky reader and giveaway a “Smellcome to Manhood” prize pack. The giveaway will launch Wednesday, March 5th and will be open to residents of the Unites States.
