For the first installment of the “Things I like” series I want to feature two Lumina Clothing Company ties. In a typical 7 day week, I could potentially be seen wearing a tie 6 of those 7 days. Lumina CC offers neck ties and bow ties in cotton and wool fabrics. The bow tie featured in the above picture is the Calcutta Bow Tie that is on sale for $30 (which is a steal on a well-made wool bow tie). Personally, the stand out features are the weight, size and plaid pattern in the tie. Each component fall into what I would consider “perfect” for an article of clothing. Since the weight of the fabric is rather light, the wool does not feel out of place if worn during warm weather months.
Spring time in Brooklyn, NY.
A great upgrade to your Spring/Summer work wardrobe will be to grab a few cotton ties. The neck tie featured in the Brooklyn Springtime photos is the Dapper Dodger Necktie (product picture maybe missing). This tie will easily become my favorite tie for the spring. Cotton ties have a versatility similar to that of the knit tie, where can can be worn with a suit or with a more relax look with denim.
Keys to Wearing Cotton Ties:
- Roll or hang these ties when not in use because they wrinkle.
- Give them a little steam from an iron or even a light starch
- Pairing them with a cotton suit will bring together a summer look and still have a hint of professionalism
Riding Dirty (But so fresh)!
