Some bold colors pack a heavy punch when paired with any outfit. This past weekend it was my mission to find a pair of solid orange socks to add to my wardrobe. If you ever catch pictures of the men in Milan when they are wearing socks with a dressy outfit, those socks are usually a bright bold color. Most American men will not stray away from bold bright colors and stick with the sometimes boring navy, grey or black socks.
Personally, I feel that bold color socks adds a little bit of fun and personally style to an outfit. In the past, lots of magazine were telling guys to go with colorful striped socks and of course I am in agreement with that notion. This spring I think the solid sock with be a great addition to a suit or even a casual outfit because they do not scream “look at me” like striped socks often do.
Adding a few other pieces for color consistency is a good way to pull that orange accent (or any other bold color) bold sock into the rest of the look. I tend pair different shades of the shame color together so that they don’t look “matchy” and play well off of each other. Not all office settings really allow for you to express your true sense of style, so adding bold color socks to you outfit might be something that you reserve for the weekend or after work. Hopefully, with the weather warming up there will be no need socks soon (one can only hope).
